“One Hundred Alphabets for the Show Card Writer” was published in 1919 to afford sign artists the ability to create signs and show cards in then-contemporary lettering styles.

One such alphabet was big, bold and representative of the Art Nouveau stylings popular in the early part of the 20th Century.  Most likely it was applied to store sales and public events that were casual and informal, for its letter forms are free of any constraints.

This design is now available as Fun Time Nouveau JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Oxford Street Oxford Street is a signage font that began as a redrawing of the capital letters used for street nameplates in the borough of Westminster in Central London. Designed by Jeff Levine, Soup and Salad JNL is a serif font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Jeff Levine Fonts . Soup and Salad JNL Within the 1893 edition of the Barnhart Bros. & Spindler type specimen book is “Bisque”, a text and headline type face with a charmingly eccentric look.  Some upper case characters take on more of a squarer look than others, while the lower case has a higher ‘x’ height.
